Social Media's Path to Globalization
In today’s generation, media has certainly become a crucial part in society. Older technology has now even evolved to fit the new style of media. Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube are simply a few of the top most common social media sites. Social media has created a revolution. It completely changed the way people interact with one another and has the ability to isolate people while also connecting them.
Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube has not only changed how everyone interacts but also has changed the world of media. It intensified the effect media originally had on the public. Due to the purpose of social media, which is to connect people, news travels quickly and between different groups. If a person needs help they immediately turn to social media in order to get attention. People latch onto the idea that they can have some sort of connection with someone completely different than themselves in a safe environment. With this belief, social media has invaded the social system, economic system, political system, and other system that relates to the others.
I have first-handedly witnessed how social media has changed the form of communication and the way people express themselves. Social media creates confidence that people believed they didn’t originally own. This confidence encourages people to post their problem with financial needs, their country’s political system, or even face a social problem for their “friends” or “followers” to read and possibly assist. This confidence has so far not shown any negative effects for the people who simply wish for change but for the systems that were set to keep things functioning. With the growth of social media’s involvement in the world, systems will begin to break down but only to be replaced by a newfound system for the economy, politics, and social system.
